"Sygard Grytting - Stay in a
beautifully preserved eighteenth-century
farmstead, near Hundorp, see page 160".
På side 160 står:
"The ancient farmstead of Sygard Grytting (mid-June to mid-Aug;
T.61298588 F.61298510 post@grytting.com;
4) nestles among the orchards, providing some of the best lodgings in
Norway.
The eighteenth-century farm buildings are in an almost perfect state of
preservation, a beautiful ensemble with the assorted barns, outhouses
and main house facing onto a tiny courtyard. One of the houses - now
housing bunk beds for dormitory accommodation (300kr per person)- dates
from the fourteenth century, when its upper storey was used to shelter
pilgrims on the long haul north to Trondheim cathedral (p.262).
Most of the double rooms are in the main house, which has been superbly
renovated to provide extremely comfortable lodgings admidst antique
furnishings, faded oil paintings and open fires. Breakfast is splendid
too - the bread is baked on the premises - and dinner is available by
prior arrangement."
